Patients who feel anxious about dental visits or procedures might not receive the treatment they need. Our dentists at South Granville Dentistry provide dental sedation for our nervous patients so they can get the care they need without fear.
Anxious Patients
Dental visits cause anxiety among many people. Even those that visit the dentist regularly may encounter feelings of fear and anxiousness.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedatives are liquid or pills that are taken orally and prescribed by your dentist.
Typically, the initial dose is taken an hour before your dental appointment. Depending on your treatment, it may also include a dose on the night prior to your procedure to prevent anxiety-related insomnia.
The sedation medication will allow you to remain awake and responsive during your treatment, but you won't feel any pain.
